BOD Challenge 2015: 7 Great Days of Leadership and Determination
Following the huge success of Board of Directors (BOD) Challenge 2014, this year XL Future Leaders program proudly presents the second BOD Challenge 2015. At XL Future Leaders program, we always believe that hands-on experience is invaluable tool that provides great impact for learning. Our mission to empower Indonesian future leaders with confidence and determination is displayed through BOD Challenge 2015 as this challenge is aimed to expose youth with real leadership experience.
For a full week from 16-21 November 2015, XL Axiata invited 7 bright Indonesian university students to sit as XL Axiata Board of Directors, they are Yudi Ashari Putra – President University, Mohammad Sobree – University Technology Malaysia, Carissa Mashinta – Institut Teknologi Bandung, Adrian Reynaldo – Universitas Indonesia, Muhammad Inardy Rizky – Institut Teknologi Bandung, Debora Valentini – President University, and Risqika Edni Doni Achsan – Universitas Gadjah Mada. Those 7 students have successfully selected from 2364 applicants from all over Indonesia after a series of tight selection process.
Within the 7-day challenge, these smart youngsters were acting as XL Board of Directors. One of the highlights of this program was a meeting with Bapak Rudiantara, the Indonesia’s minister of communications and information. Rudiantara hosted 7 new XL BODs, Ibu Dian Siswarini – XL Axiata CEO, and the XL team. Rudiantara lectured the 7 BODs on leadership, innovation, and current trend on technology. Another activities that were well-executed, smart, and properly designed to enhance the leadership values for the students are: intensive back-to-back meeting with XL Axiata Board of Commissioners and real Board of Directors, market visit, XL 4G LTE re-farming and launching, and attending Golden Ring award reception.
On the final day in the office, BOD Challenge winners presented their idea and solution that had been given. In front of media, judges, and XL management team they pitched an idea to excelling XL’s network and position for youth in the region. As they established a strong pitch, the feedback from the judges had been overwhelmingly positive. The tiring week of hard work and full of emotion paid off: a 3-day of business and leisure trip to Kuala Lumpur awaited the team. In Kuala Lumpur, BOD challenge winners have the opportunity to meet with Axiata team as well as explore the dynamic city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With all those experience, XL Future Leaders completely happy to see and witness the great future leaders upholding their inner values and exemplifying global standards of excellence.
